DADDY ONE, CALEB ZERO!!!

When you picture our life you may wonder, "How does that work?"

For instance, "How does a man in a wheelchair who can't open his hands, can't sit up on his own, can't lift anything from a chair or the floor.......well.....how would he discipline a strong-willed two year old child??"

Many of you would probably think, "Well, I guess he just doesn't discipline other than with his words. He just lets his wife or someone else MAKE the child obey and then hope for the best as the child grows older."

Well, NOT MY MAN!!! NOT MY CHRIS SKINNER!!! No one is going to tell him to sit it out or just wait until the kids are older to be part of EVERY aspect of their lives!!!

For instance, the other day our darling son decided to exert his independence and see how far it got him. So, when Amanda our Nanny asked him to do something he yelled "NO!!!"
As she persisted in her request, he persisted in his defiance.
So, Daddy took matters into his own hands. Since Daddy is a man who uses everything that he can to accomplish his goals, he nudged Caleb with the footplates of his wheelchair into the back room. When Caleb continued to yell "NO" and to refuse to go to the corner, Daddy just used his footplates and the tilt mechanism of his wheelchair to maneuver Caleb into the corner and boxed him in until he stopped screaming and was ready to listen and obey. Unfortunately for Chris our little youngster is just as determined and persistent as his Daddy, so this required 1 hour and 15 minutes......BUT, Daddy won, Caleb decided to be calm and polite and apologize.

So the next day when Caleb decided to lay on the floor and not go to time-out when he was told to do so, all Chris had to do was say, "Caleb if you don't move Daddy will have to bump you with my wheelchair." All he had to do was turn his chair in the direction of Caleb and he scrambled onto his feet and scurried down the hall to time-out.

So I would say that Daddy is VICTORIOUS and yet again, NOTHING WILL STOP THE DETERMINATION OF CHRIS SKINNER!!!

Who says you need hands to discipline a two year old??
